Memorial to commemorate the cutting of the Troarn Bridge during the hours of D-Day by Major Tim Roseavre’s 3rd Parachute Squadron Royal Engineers.

Apologies for the lack of posts over the last few months, but I have been putting all my efforts into research for what will hopefully be a book revolving around the destruction of the bridges across the River Dives (and Divette) on D-Day. It begins by covering the actions on the DZs by the various Pathfinder teams, followed by the Main Drop of 3 Parachute Brigade and the subsequent groups of 8th Parachute Battalion, 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion and 3rd Parachute Squadron Royal Engineers that headed for the bridges. It will also cover the actions on DZ ‘V’ by ‘C’ Company, 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion.
