This is the biography of Captain David Tibbs MC, a doctor with 225 Field (Parachute) Ambulance and the 13th Parachute Battalion. David landed on D-Day, spending the morning in the open fields looking for casualties. A week later he was transferred to the 13th Battalion after the death of their doctor. He went on to serve with the battalion in Normandy until being shot by a sniper. After recovering, he served throughout the campaign in NW Europe. After the surrender of Japan, he went with the 13th to Java, extraordinarily, fighting alongside the Japanese against Communist insurgents. Parachute Doctor is the story of a truly heroic man.
